South Plains Family Caregiver Support Program

South Plains Family Caregiver Support Program has been established to recognize and support you in the everyday activities that surround the long-term care of your loved one. You as a caregiver need access to quality information and support services. 

We offer comprehensive support services and tailor them to your needs as a caregiver. We know that your needs and resources change over time. 

We want to empower you with caregiver information, tips, education, skills and a support system. This way you can retain greater control over your personal life. 


Eligibility

Caregiver or care receiver over the age of 60 (Respite Voucher Program or Temporary Relief Assistance the care receiver must be over the age of 60);

Caregiver must be providing in-home or long distance community care to their loved one;

Grandparents or relatives of children not more than 18 years of age;


Caregiver Services

Information for various caregiving roles, assistance to gaining access to supportive services and caregiver resource libraries;

Support Groups-either on-line on the internet or locally

Counseling-licensed intern counselor;

Respite Voucher Program (Relief Program)-$300 voucher per quarter;

and Caregiver Educational Forums-provide coping skills, hands-on skills and essential knowledge from physicians, healthcare professionals, legal and financial information and much more.

The South Plains Family Caregiver Support Program is a service provided by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services and Area Agencies on Aging. South Plains Association of Governments, the designated Area Agency on Aging, serves senior citizens living in the fifteen county region: Bailey, Lamb, Hale, Floyd, Motley, Cochran, Hockley, Lubbock, Crosby, Dickens, Yoakum, Terry, Lynn, and Garza.
